A Private dinner for Farfetch & Style Arabia, planned by Jemma-Jade Events

I was delighted when I got asked to plan an intimate dinner for two of fashion’s influential power players, Condé Nast’s Style.com/Arabia and online retailer Farfetch. This event took place in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s capital city, at the gorgeous Emirates Palace Hotel.

The evening was held to celebrate the retailer’s latest expansion within the Middle East, with the signing of prominent Kuwaiti boutiques AlOthman and Al Ostoura. This dual signing solidifies Farfetch’s commitment to the Middle Eastern market and support of the Arab world’s burgeoning creative landscape.

The event took place at a private location at the Emirates Palace planned and coordinated by Jemma-Jade Events. The evening was designed to fuse the mystical elegance of Arabia with the clean and refined tone of contemporary fashion. A candlelit path led the way to an ethereally decorated gazebo, featuring twinkling white Arabian-influenced décor laced with florals. Here guests were invited to relax on the plush sofas and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with some shisha.

Dinner was then held in a never before used location within the palace. The decor was soft, elegant and beautiful. Guests were met upon entering the event space with a spectacular site of a 15.3 metre table adored in white hydrangeas and roses from top to bottom with candles inter winded within it, adding a warm glow to the evening.

Jemma-Jade Events decided to add a bit of theatrics to dining by having each guest at the event presented with their personal chef who made their dessert in front of their very eyes. The dessert was an iced rainbow parfait finished off with a personalised ivory chocolate name tag and a spray of rose essence.  We then presented guests with the petits fours which were presented in these gorgeous antique wooden drawers, whereby each drawer opened up to a different aromatic chocolate. For instance we had truffle chocolates on a bed of pink rose petals and raspberries.

In collaboration with AlOthman, founded nearly half a century ago, Farfetch brought a fashion-souk to life. The display featured a curated edit of what shoppers around the world can expect to find newly available online at Farfetch through AlOthman. We had mannequins adorned in the latest haute couture surrounding the tables, providing a real fashion like twist to the decor of the evening.

VIP guests, including Nez Gebreel, CEO of the Dubai Design and Fashion Council; rising actress Razane Jammal; and accessories designer Nathalie Trad, who all enjoyed a decadent dining experience, as well as a surprise performance by Emirati soul musician and MTV EMAs nominee Hamdan Al Abri.

This was a truly special evening to plan and I thank Farfetch & Style Arabia for choosing Jemma-Jade Events to create this magical evening. I would also like to add a big thank you to the talented team at Emirates Palace who helped in making this evening such a success.
